Come join us for a Half Day of Mindfulness led by monastics from the Blue Cliff Monastery, in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh (Plum Village). This event is a special opportunity to immerse yourself in the practice of mindfulness and learn from experienced practitioners. Whether you are a beginner or have been practicing for years, this half-day retreat will offer you a chance to deepen your understanding and connection to mindfulness. Don’t miss out on this unique event!

The monastics have requested that attendees be 18 years or older.

Please arrive by 8:45 a.m. to get settled before the event begins.

Event organizers: Peaceful Harbor Sangha (Portland) and Open Heart Sangha (Yarmouth)

What to Wear
Please wear loose, casual, and comfortable clothing suitable for sitting meditation and for spending time with monastics – shirts covering shoulders, back, and midriff, and shorts/skirts/pants at least to the knee, covering leggings. Please bring weather-appropriate clothing and shoes suitable for walking outside so you can fully enjoy the outdoor walking meditation with the community. Please avoid wearing perfumes or other products that may affect those who are sensitive or allergic to scents.

What Else to Bring
We will provide chairs for sitting meditation. Feel free to bring your own cushions, benches, and/or blankets — whatever makes you comfortable when meditating.

We will be sharing a bag lunch with the monastics before they head off to Blue Cliff, so feel free to bring your lunch (we will not have a kitchen) or just hang out.
